15June 2013 @ CSU East Bay Hayward.
Mike hooked me up with this gig through Blue Frog. The gear was put up when we got there. Mike had been there the last few days hanging the array. (The black obelisks on either side) Also they had these really cool giant video walls.
Not an intense gig but fun with such a huge system. Mike mixed this I was A2 that day.
The real work came in the load out when we had to take it all down with a crew of stagehands.
It only took about 5 hours. Not bad considering.

Gearing Up
The Yonders are gearing up for Deployment. It isn't far away.
Get ready for daily blogs from a far away place.
Here I am trying on some of the gear.
The only way to tell it's me is my goofy eyebrow creeping out.

Harvest
Mel and I have been growing organic vegetables in the backyard. Far from being enough to live off of. However we had our first harvest of baby kale and some romano beans.
So far so good. I do have peppers and tomatoes coming in as well. Mel said if we could just grow mozzarella we could have caprese from the garden. Basil (Check) Tomatoes (Check) Cheese Bush (???)

Journey Home and Gigging With Ralph
My good friend Ralph hired me for a gig at Georgetown University.
I flew in the day before and stayed with Sarah and Dan. It was a very short visit but I did get to say hi and see their critters. Here's Graham hanging with me.
Also Sarah has a groundhog named Gary in her backyard. It turned out Gary was a Gabby as she had little ground hoglets.
The next days were a blur. I worked with Ralph doing gigs and shop work all hours of the day. It was the BEST! Its amazing how much I actually enjoyed doing the work. I wish I could have more of this kind of stuff within the current job I'm in.
I got to gig in some really cool old rooms across the campus. I didn't get pictures of most of them as I was in the moment with the job.
I did see the leet golf cart. (Leo knows)
After a fun and exhausting 5 days my parents came to get me. I stayed with the family the rest of the trip. It was so great.
We went to dinner in Berlin (MD not Germany) I saw this random bird that let me get really close to it.
I hung out with my niece. She is a fun kid. I walked her around the house when she wanted to play puppy. She found Sarah's old slippers. Adorable!
Always the poser for photos as well.
I flew home rejuvenated and with a fresh perspective on my work. So far I think I'm holding on to it. We shall see.

Photo Shoots
The band decided to have a unit photo shoot. We headed out to Napa at 5am. It turned out to be a waste of time as the photos were terrible.
Anyway I took one of us that I think should be the next album cover.
The Yonders ended up doing another shoot later on. Here's them posing for photos while I was standing in front of the cow fence.
The hay bails are a nice touch.

The Big Catch Up
Wow I can't believe I've once again slacked on my blog. (Not Really)
So I have a few things to write so read on.
I will include this picture of Solid Snake as I found him when I showed up to work one morning.

Firing Gansta style of course. Riding the giant megaphone of destiny.
