Due to the crazy hot and sunny weather I had to get creative to keep myself from frying. Behold the audio cabana. I can't tell if it's more or less dorky than the pvc sunshade I built for my console a few years ago.

I saw this sign at the Raley's grocery store. The Y in you looks like an L. It sounds like someone who speaks english as a second language (who is also on a first name basis with me) trying to sell me ribs.

Band Hall Attic

Jon Ruff and I went wondering around in the attic of the band hall. We were looking for a path to pull cable to the room where we are moving the production office. I have to give up my gigantic office after having the best space for the past 7 years. The attic was huge. It was interesting to see the layout of the building from above everything. I don't have to move any gear yet but soon enough I'll be in a much smaller space.

Phoenix was bored and  feeling crazy. This is him playing with the cone from his surgery. I'm not sure if he was biting at it to destroy his shame from wearing it or just was hurting for a new toy.

Good Day Prediction

I make eggs nearly every morning. I've found the days that my eggs fold perfectly is usually an indicator of a good day. While this may be a placebo effect I like to believe it.

Eggs flipped perfectly this morning as well.

 10 June 2012 Livermore, CA at the Livermore Rodeo. The truck broke down on the way there and I had to walk to the nearest gas station to get coolant. It was about a mile each way. Fortunately the truck started right up. Double fortunately I patched into the speakers at the rodeo so I didn't have to break out mine.

Oregon Trip

This was from my oregon trip.

I went to a really big pawn shop and I found this surprising.

The old school nintendo is selling for more than a wii. I wonder if anyone is aware that you can play old school nintendo games on the wii.

There was also this awesome pizza place. It was called Ye Olde Pizza Shoppe. Shoppe spelled with a tomato.

It was great I think I ate there like 3 times in a week because there was really no where else to go.

I also had this video I took when I was out geocaching.

Tenacious D!!!!

One of the best shows I've seen in a while. I especially love the fenix rising during the opening song. They played an amazing show. Especially one of my favorite tunes "Beelzeboss".

Fightin' Pitbull

While I was on the trip to Torrance, Phoenix hopped the fence some how and fought with the dogs next door.
Mike was home to deal with it. Phoenix doesn't have many teeth so I don't think he did much damage. However the dogs beat him up pretty good.

His back was swelling up when I got home. I took him to the vet and he needed surgery. I had to hold him while they sedated him. NOT FUN!

He needed a drain for the bite so he was bleeding all over the place. After a while it was taken out and he is doing fine. He just has a patch of shaved fur on his back.

Here he is in the cone of shame after the surgery.

Yes I did try the cone on myself and it does fit.

Torrance Trip

I went out caching in Torrance. I found a few but none really interesting. I saw this weird telephone pole which seemed to be more nails and screws than wood.

 While on the way to the gig I was driving the truck. When we pulled up to the area they gave us a police escort. Look how important I am in my giant yellow truck.

 Here's the view of the gig. It was hard to get through the crowd.
The system sounded great though.

While in Torrance I went out to a comedy club. They were having a showcase and it was great. The show closed with Daniel Tosh which was not supposed to be on the show. It was an awesome surprise and a great night.

Nebraska/North Dakota Trip

Sorry for the slacking everyone. I've been a real gig monster lately.



I had a chance to do a manning assist with the band at Offutt. It was great as usual.
I started out at Offutt AFB for rehearsal and one gig in town. They wanted me to get familiar with the gear and the band. The group was pretty good. Four horn rock band with two good singers. It was great.

We then traveled to Grand Forks ND. So I did the same thing I always do when in a new place. Geocache.

Here is the main gate. There was a cache near one of the airplanes on stick outside the base.

While wondering around base I was listening to a podcast called talking toons with Rob Paulsen. This guy was the voice of my childhood. He was Raphael from the 80 ninja turtles. Pinky from Pinky and the brain. And many more. I hear him everywhere on TV.

I also saw this statue in the middle of the base. It's apparently the mascot around there. I suppose there is a large nordic population around here.
