Gas Mask Fitting

Paul and I had our gas masks fitted for deployment. I couldn't stop doing the bane voice.

The Blue Yonders

Played one of the first gigs with the Blue Yonders the AF celtic/ folk group. It's a lot of fun to be playing music rather than make it loud.

What do y'all think of the kilts?

Brandon at full bellows. A rare sighting indeed.

Gig Pic

A Colonel on base hired me to provide sound for a living room concert at his house party. I won't say much but it wasn't fun being around everyone getting drunk at a commander's house. But cash money baby!
Love my little rig. Ran this one from my iphone.

Tahoe Part 2

I got a gig with Jumpstart, a band I've worked with a few times. I was hoping to stretch the weekend out in Tahoe and take Mel with me but something came up and I had to make a sequel to Tahoe.

This load in was a bitch. along a somewhat paved path push about 300 feet then up a flight of stairs. Fortunately for me audio was provided. I got to mix on a SAC rig. Which I had considered buying but now am really glad I didn't. It was cumbersome and slow. I'll take my little 01v monster anyday.

Here's the gig.
It was for the R&D department at google. Everyone was wearing those google glasses. They definitely don't give you any cool points but having a heads up display seems like a fun idea.

This was a really fun gig but the drive home was a little rough. A 2.5 hour drive starting at around 12:45am is not pleasant. But that's what makes it fun.

Bye for now Tahoe.

Tahoe Trip Part 1

Mobility recently had a gig in Tahoe. This was for the snowfest which we have done before.
This time ending in Chorizo instead of pancakes.

We arrive at the Cal Neva resort. This was my view from the window.

Sherpa quickly found a place to drink and eat. Tons of beers on tap 500 feet from the hotel and darts!

Raisins and I played a quick game to which he schooled me at the last second with this nonsense.

To which there was gloating.
I drew the sun with two scoops.

And plenty of rubbing it in.

Then Sherpa and I played a gentlemanly game. And I still lost!

(Raisins) Brandon and I went to get another beer and he found a huge Jenga game. Of course we had to play it. It went on for a while and got out of control high until it all came crashing down with me the loser AGAIN!
We returned to the hotel for some blackjack. Paul had won $20 on the way out and we hoped to continue this good luck. Twas not to be.

The next day I had the cure. A chorizo breakfast burrito. Then the gig happened.

Paul, Mark and I walked the parade. Rebecca worked the other side of the float as these guys were limited in wireless range.

Here's some video from my POV.

I'll be back Tahoe.....soon.
