Trip Home Part 4: The Lost Episode

We flew as far as Charloette NC. The connecting flight was late and we were doomed to be trapped in Dallas if we boarded it. In a brilliant turn of events we made arrangements to fly out the next day. Rented a car and enjoyed the area for a day.

The sky was ominous as we selected our rental vehicle.

I chose the hhr. It was a really sweet ride.

We stopped at a wal-mart to procure essentials, as our bags were already headed to California without us. I only had one set of clothes. But this has happened before.

We then found a hotel to chill out for the evening. We found a really cheap super 8. It was fine but I think this picture of the coat rack says it all.

Hilarious!

So we scoped out a nice nature reserve not far from the hotel. It had a historic plantation house and lots of nice trails around a lake. I ventured a little farther off than I should have and ended up here.

And on a small stage where a ranger presents some type of nature show.

Finally I had to enjoy some Cheerwine. They run so many of their commercials on the radio I had to try it.

It was good. It reminded me of Fay-Go. (Anybody?)

So we finished the flight home. Thanks to playing on the iPad. We had a great word game where you have to come up with all the words you can think of. This wasn't recognized as one of them though.

What-ever!

Trip Home Part 3: The Conclusion-ing (Going Home?)

After returning home from D.C. Mel and I took some time to hang around home and enjoy some of the things I can't get out in California. (Utz Puff'n Corn!!!!!!)

The beer is always nice when I go home. My main obsession is Yuengling. A cheap beer but amazing none the less. Also a beer out of Vermont that is hard to find out west. Magic Hat. I enjoyed a few when this picture was taken.

Another thing I got to see when I was home was my new niece Libby! Every time I attempted to hold her though she would cry. I know what she was thinking. Uncle Lou sucks!!!!

I also found some moustaches in a jacket I had left at home the last time I visited. I really liked this grey one.

I think it makes every one look like Sam Elliot. What do you think?

So with our trip concluded we head to the airport to fly home.

Trip Home Part 2: Baltimore and Beyond

After some time on the eastern shore and Assateague island Mel and I gathered our stuff and headed out to Baltimore to visit my sister and her fiancee Dan.

Here's Mel chilling on the stoop in true fashion it was an hot day in which one might hang out on a stoop. I called my sister to let us in and after 4 doors and 3 locks we were in their apartment.

From there we hung out a bit and tried to figure out a place to eat. I didn't care where we went but I did want to go to the yogurt place I had gone the last time I was in Baltimore. I couldn't remember the name of it so it became a game to come up with alternate names for the place. It's real name was Mr. Yogato. Our best one was Mr. Yomama. I thought it was funny at least.

Here we are enjoying said yogurt. Which we scored an additional 10% off thanks to Dan and his fast answer to the trivia challenge. Shame on me for not having pictures of Sarah and Dan instead enjoy these ones from older posts.

We continued on to D.C. the next day. Mel had never been to the museums in D.C. We went to the holocaust museum as well as a few other monuments.

I also caught up with my good friends Ralph, Chris Kosky, and Mr. T ( My professor from college not the guy from the A- Team. They both surprisingly pity the fool though)

Trip Home Part 1: The Island

My leave was shifted this year. Normally it's in July after the fourth. This year however leave came early. I decided to go home and take Mel with me. A time was indeed had.

The first stop was Ocean City and it's surrounding areas. Assateague to be exact. Above you can see some of the wild ponies that roam the island. They were right on the beach. We made to separate trips to the island but I'm lumping the photos together.

First a photo that is better than the photographer. This one turned out amazing and makes a great desktop background. Click the picture for the full size version.

Next was my artsy attempt with the timer on the camera. I think it turned out ok.

My final picture to share from the island was near the bridge when you enter the place. There are a few ponies off in the distance. They weren't feeling too social that day.

Dear readers,

Please forgive me again for not entertaining you. I've been putting off blogging as a few things have piled up. However instead of being lazy, I've busied myself with humdrum nerdy activities (surprise I know) in hopes of avoiding blog writing. Finally my discipline has kicked in.
